Comfort
I am consoled by the comforting love of God.
Thinking of the physical things that bring me comfort, I may picture a steaming cup of hot chocolate on a cold day or a warm fire in the fireplace on a winter evening. I may think of a loving hug or encouraging word from a friend.
Even deeper and more fulfilling than these comforting experiences is the comfort I receive from the assurance of God's love within me. If I am coping with a loss, whether it be a difficult learning experience or a life-changing event, I turn to God in prayer and know true love and comfort. I know deep within my heart that I am always enfolded in the comforting love of God. This love is always moving in and through me, strengthening me and filling me with peace.
I am with you always, to the end of the age.--Matthew 28:20

Saturday, February 6, 2010 - Compassion
“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.“
~George Washington Carver
Today's Affirmation
I think, feel, and live compassionately.
Today's Meditation
Dear God,
I am amazed at how the smallest amount of compassion for another human being can open up my heart. Reaching out to others, even in silent prayer, moves me beyond myself.
I feel that I am embracing myself, accepting myself, healing myself when I allow only love to live in my mind and heart. God, I am grateful for Your compassion on me through the ups and downs of my life situation. And I am grateful to be a channel for that compassion to touch every soul I encounter. Thank You, God.
Amen
